Mechanical Seals
01

Overview

A mechanical seal controls leakage across a precise interface between a stationary face fixed to the equipment and a rotating face moving with the shaft. Secondary seals, springs or bellows, a gland, sleeve, and support system may form part of the assembly. Single, dual, cartridge, slurry, and gas-seal arrangements must be engineered for the process fluid, solids, pressure, temperature, speed, emissions requirement, shaft movement, and piping plan.
